Well, we made it to Toowoomba intact. Unfortunately a late departure left us no time to have a spin when we got here.
We left Armidale about 45 minutes late, but made it to Tenterfield for lunch. It drizzled on and off to Tenterfield, and then poured down on us most of the way to Jennings-Wallengarra. Over the border it’s been dry, as it has in Armidale, since Christmas, and they’ve not had the rain we’ve had this week.
After a quick stop in Stanthorpe we drove through Warwick and headed towards Toowoomba. We took a detour through Nobby, where tomorrow’s Time Trial starts, and drove over the course.
Dave’s initial thought are that it, for the most part, seems to be mostly false flat, while the main climbs don’t compare to many of the hills we’ve been riding. Hopefully that means a good time tomorrow, though places depend on how that time compares to the competition.
We arrived at the camp site and put up the tents before heading to the rider briefing. There has been a slight change in tomorrow’s course, but nothing major as far as we’re concerned. Those in the Oceania Elite Men’s competition may disagree.
We completed registration and we’ve been given the number 1, and we’re first off the start tomorrow.
Feeling a little nervous, but it’s time to sleep.
